This research aims to investigate how the current pasture management practices being adopted for UK donkeys are affecting their welfare. It will utilize interdisciplinary approaches to compare donkey welfare indicators with habitat biodiversity indicators to assess whether higher habitat biodiversity will result in lower rates of obesity and contribute to overall higher donkey welfare, as such habitat could be a better suit for their specific evolutionary adaptations.
